The Team

Khanyisa Tabata

Capetonian but born in the Eastern Cape, freelance journalist, editor, co-founder of The Gre3nlight District with two friends. Been working in the media industry for the past two years, interviewed the most influential people on South African politics, Premiers, Mayors, MEC and councilors.

The Gre3nlight District is the labour of love that was born while having a chat with Kim and Denisia, with this project we aim to bring what people want to know and also want to attend but cant they can through us.

I believe all of us have dreams when we grow up and as we grow those dreams become something else when we are at a certain age, I know what will make this work is that we are doing what we love doing on daily basis.

In conclusion I am quoting Dr Maya Angelou where she says I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life's a bitch. You've got to go out and kick ass.

Denisia Adams

Currently I’m a freelance journalist/pr/manager and co- founder forThe Gre3nlight district.

I’ve been working in media for three years (and counting) doing production, programming and radio hosting. I’ve interviewed everyone from the countries MEC’s to international known Chuck D (Public enemy) covering an array on subjects (i.e. gender, current affairs, lifestyle, arts& culture etc). Naturally I enjoy engaging with people because human beings are the most interesting species to study, I think.

We came up with the idea for the GRE3NLIGHT District blog to challenge the rest! To really showcase the happenings in Cape Town from Monday to Friday despite some who think Cape Town’s vibe is dieing we (myself, Kim, Khanyisa) plan on reviving it. Plus creativity should never be restricted whatever you have to offer the world you should explore it. Challenge yourself.

My vision is to prove that all you need is dream and that sky's the limit as long as you believe FORGET THE REST!
